THINGS TO DO
Withnail & I became a cult film of the 80's staring Richard E. Grant and co-star Paul McGann. A lot of the film takes place and was filmed in the area. Sleddale Hall farm house was the location for their "trip to the country" and the telephone box in Bampton was another seen. We are a short distance to all the main locations used.
Trip on Ullswater steamer, 01768 482 229. Pooley Bridge to Howtown or Glenridding. You want to do it with a stop at Howtown where you can walk to the Howtown for a simple but exceedingly good lunch in very traditional family hotel. Waitress’s all in black dresses and white pinnies. Need to book for dining room.
