Little can prepare you for the views from Whitbysteads Hill Farm - over the Eden Valley to the Pennines in North Cumbria. The farm is on the edge of Lake District, set amongst spectacular mountains whilst the ruined Lowther Castle sits imposingly in the foreground. There are red squirrels in the surrounding garden which has unusual varieties of Old English roses and is part of the National Garden Scheme.
Bed and Breakfast at Whitbysteads is an experience to be savoured. The bedrooms are decorated in great style, a mixture of the old, the new, the eclectic. Beds are sumptuous, the towels fluffy. Guests have exclusive use of the Garden Drawing Room, a gracious and spacious room with an open fire. Breakfasts are made from locally sourced ingredients including Slacks bacon and Mr Bellas's famous black pudding. Dinner is now available. A feast awaits you of Morecombe Bay shrimps, oxtail, sticky toffee pudding and many more options. Packed lunches can also be provided on request. Children, dogs(house trained!) and horses are given a warm welcome at Whitbysteads, with a travel cot and high chair available for younger guests.
